I visited my daughter’s 2nd-grade class today to demonstrate what a Packaging Engineer at Boxon actually does. Instead of just talking about shock absorption, I decided to prove it.
We packed a raw egg inside a box using a custom paper cushioning. Then, came the high-stakes moment: I asked my daughter to perform the official "Drop Test" right onto the classroom floor.
The room went silent... followed by a huge cheer when we opened the box to reveal a perfectly intact egg!
Several students told me afterwards that I have "the coolest job." It was a great reminder that engineering isn't just about specs and materials; it's about solving problems and keeping things safe.
